Overview

Simple AI Translator is a Chrome extension that translates text selected by the user on webpages or entered in the popup.

Data We Process

We process:

• Text that you explicitly select on a webpage for translation.
• Text that you explicitly type or paste in the extension popup for translation.
• Configuration data you provide, such as provider endpoint URL, model, authentication settings, default languages, and interaction preferences.

Data Storage

• We store configuration data using Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.sync).
• We do not persist source text or translated output in extension storage after translation completes.

Data Transmission

• Translation request content is sent to the translation provider endpoint configured by you.
• Translation responses are used only to display results in the extension UI.

Third-Party Processing

If you configure a third-party provider endpoint, translation request data is transmitted to that provider to perform the translation. Your use of that provider is subject to the provider's own terms and privacy policy.

Data Sharing

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not share data for advertising.
• Data is shared only as necessary to process translation requests through your configured provider endpoint.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Configuration data remains in extension storage until you change it, clear extension data, or uninstall.
• Source text and translated output are not retained in extension storage.

Security

We aim to minimize stored data and limit processing to what is required for translation functionality. You are responsible for protecting your provider credentials and using trusted provider endpoints.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
